João Felipe Figueira de Mello
João Felipe specializes in corporate law, focusing on the structuring of businesses, partnerships and joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and corporate governance.
He also handles corporate disputes, including arbitration, and represents clients in administrative sanctioning proceedings before the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (Comissão de Valores Mobiliários – CVM) and the Brazilian Financial System Appeals Council (Conselho de Recursos do Sistema Financeiro Nacional – CRSFN).
Throughout his career, he has worked on significant transactions and disputes across a wide range of sectors, including oil & gas, infrastructure, ports, telecommunications, mobility, construction and engineering, and financial services.
He holds a Master’s degree in Regulatory Law from FGV Law School (FGV Direito Rio) and a law degree from Universidade Candido Mendes (UCAM). In April 2026, he completed the AI Strategy for Business Leaders program on campus at Harvard Business School. He has also attended the Program on Negotiation (PON) at Harvard Law School on June 2018.
He has been recognized by Análise Advocacia 500 as one of Brazil’s most admired lawyers (2017, 2018 and 2019) and by Best Lawyers in corporate governance (2018).
He was previously a partner at Leoni Siqueira Advogados (2005-2018) and an associate at Ulhôa Canto, Rezende e Guerra Advogados (2002-2005).
